Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy

Little Crumpets is committed to the safe, transparent and responsible use of technology, and to protecting the children in our care from any risk associated with artificial intelligence (AI).

Little Crumpets uses AI tools for one purpose only: to help draft and edit general written content for our website, such as information pages and blog posts. All content produced with the help of AI is checked and approved by a member of staff before it is published.

Little Crumpets does not use AI in the care, supervision, observation or assessment of children, or in any decision affecting a child, family or member of staff. Children do not have access to or use AI tools while in the setting. No names, photographs, videos, records or other personal information about children, families or staff are entered into any AI tool, and AI is not used in communications with parents or carers about individual children.

Little Crumpets only uses AI with publicly available, non-personal information. Our use of AI is consistent with our Data Protection and Privacy policy and with UK GDPR.

This policy is drafted by askcolin and reviewed annually, or sooner if our use of AI changes. Any change to how AI is used in the setting will be communicated to parents and carers in advance.
